Accountability requires permanence

Social media posts get deleted, edited, and rewritten every day. SnapShot captures them verbatim with permanent timestamps so the public record stays intact.

What we stand for

Three principles guide every product decision we make.

Verbatim Preservation

Every snapshot captures the exact text, images, details, and engagement numbers of a post as it appeared at that moment. Nothing is paraphrased, summarized, or altered.

Security by Design

Secure Google sign-in, encrypted data in transit, and strict access controls. We document exactly what we store, what we don't, and who can access it.

Long-Term Thinking

We architect for decades of data retention, not quarterly growth targets. Sustainable revenue, no VC pressure, no incentive to pivot away from the mission.

The problem we're solving

Public records are unstable

Politicians edit tweets after backlash. Companies scrub product claims before lawsuits. Influencers delete endorsements that age poorly. The primary record of public discourse can be rewritten at any time by the people it's meant to hold accountable.

Context disappears

Without point-in-time snapshots, there is no way to reconstruct what was said, when it was said, or what the surrounding conversation looked like. Screenshots lack metadata. Wayback Machine doesn't index individual social media posts.

Trust erodes

When anyone can silently edit or delete their public statements, the default assumption becomes that records are unreliable. Accountability becomes impossible without a stable, verifiable reference point.

This is an infrastructure problem

Bookmarking tools and screenshot folders don't solve it. Preserving the public record at scale requires purpose-built tools: structured data, permanent timestamps, and enterprise-grade storage.

Our commitments

Product principles, not marketing copy. These constrain how we build.

Transparent security

We document exactly how data is stored, transmitted, and protected. We disclose what we can access and what we cannot. No vague claims about "military-grade encryption."

No data mining

We do not analyze your snapshots for advertising, sell aggregated usage data, or train machine learning models on your content. Your archives belong to you.

Full data portability

Export all your snapshots and data at any time in standard formats. No lock-in, no export fees, no degraded experience for users who want to leave.

Honest about limitations

We tell you what's encrypted and what isn't. We tell you who can access your data and under what circumstances. If something isn't built yet, we say so.

Business model

We charge for the product. That's the entire model.

How we make money

  • Subscription plans (Professional and Enterprise tiers)
  • Enterprise licensing for custom deployments
  • That's it. No ads, no data sales, no hidden revenue.

What we don't do

  • Never sell or broker access to your data
  • Never display advertising in the product
  • Never use your snapshots to train AI models
  • Never monetize usage analytics or metadata

The company

SnapShot is an independently operated product. No venture capital, no board pressure, no incentive to pivot away from the mission. Revenue comes from subscriptions. That alignment is intentional.
