The web is ephemeral. Your library isn't.
Posts get deleted, edited, and lost every day. Snapshot.so saves them to your personal library so you can search, organize, and rediscover anything.
What we stand for
Three principles guide every product decision we make.
Verbatim Preservation
Every snapshot captures the exact text, images, details, and engagement numbers of a post as it appeared at that moment. Nothing is paraphrased, summarized, or altered.
Security by Design
Secure Google sign-in, encrypted data in transit, and strict access controls. We document exactly what we store, what we don't, and who can access it.
Long-Term Thinking
We architect for decades of data retention, not quarterly growth targets. Sustainable revenue, no VC pressure, no incentive to pivot away from the mission.
The problem we're solving
Public content is unstable
Threads get deleted after going viral. Useful posts vanish when accounts get suspended. Insightful takes disappear into algorithmic timelines. The things you read and want to remember are at the mercy of platforms you don't control.
Bookmarks aren't enough
Platform bookmarks break when posts get deleted. Browser bookmarks lead to dead links. Screenshots get buried in camera rolls with no search or organization. None of these give you a real library.
Knowledge gets lost
The best ideas you've read online are scattered across platforms, timelines, and threads. Without a way to save, organize, and search them, they're effectively gone. Rediscoverability requires purpose-built tools.
This is a tool problem
Generic bookmarks and screenshot folders don't cut it. Building a lasting knowledge library from the public web requires purpose-built tools: structured data, permanent timestamps, full-text search, and reliable storage.
Our commitments
Product principles, not marketing copy. These constrain how we build.
Transparent security
We document exactly how data is stored, transmitted, and protected. We disclose what we can access and what we cannot. No vague claims about "military-grade encryption."
No data mining
We do not analyze your snapshots for advertising, sell aggregated usage data, or train machine learning models on your content. Your archives belong to you.
Full data portability
Export all your snapshots and data at any time in standard formats. No lock-in, no export fees, no degraded experience for users who want to leave.
Honest about limitations
We tell you what's encrypted and what isn't. We tell you who can access your data and under what circumstances. If something isn't built yet, we say so.
Business model
We charge for the product. That's the entire model.
How we make money
- Subscription plans (Professional and Enterprise tiers)
- Enterprise licensing for custom deployments
- That's it. No ads, no data sales, no hidden revenue.
What we don't do
- Never sell or broker access to your data
- Never display advertising in the product
- Never use your snapshots to train AI models
- Never monetize usage analytics or metadata
The company
Snapshot.so is an independently operated product. No venture capital, no board pressure, no incentive to pivot away from the mission. Revenue comes from subscriptions. That alignment is intentional.
